HOLIDAYS The school closes on Thursday 30th June at 12:00pm for the Summer Holidays. We look forward to seeing you all back here on Thursday 1st September at 08:30am for the first day of the new school year!
If any families are not returning to the school in September please let us know as soon as possible if you have not already done so.
BOOKLISTS 2016/2017 Booklists for all classes will be available on the website next week.
GALLERY – 1st class went on a trip to the local NCAD City Garden – please have a look at out Gallery.
GARDEN CLEANUP We are looking for some volunteers for a Garden Clean up on the 25th June at 10am – all are welcome! Please let us know by reply to this email if you can make it along.
MATERIALS MONEY 2016/2017 2016/2017 materials money payment will be taken online. An email will be sent out shortly for anyone who wishes to pay this now or over the summer. Reminders will be sent again in September. Incoming Junior Infants have already paid this amount via their deposit.
CODERDOJO We are seeking mentors to assist with a CoderDojo we are setting up in Canal Way ETNS. The Dojo will commence in early September 2016 and will run on Saturday afternoons.
CoderDojo is a global movement of free, volunteer-led, community based programming clubs for young people. At a Dojo, young people learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, games and explore technology in an informal and creative environment. See www.coderdojo.com for more information.
This really is an excellent opportunity to become involved in a very worthwhile initiative! Please complete this very short survey before the end of the school year if you are willing to become a mentor at our school’s Dojo.

A message from the Parents Association committee
Dear Parents,
On behalf of Canal Way, we would like to thank you all for volunteering and attending at our end of year finale on Sunday. It was a real team effort to pull it off so successfully.
It really looked like everyone had a great time and it was a fantastic community event to finish off the year of dedicated fundraising!! If anyone has any photos of the event, we would love to see them. Please email [email protected] if you have any.
We’re still finalising the amount raised but expect it to be in excess of 1k after expenses, which is in line with expectations.
