Welcome to this weeks newsletter,

ETHOS – Mental Health Month is going well. Friends for Life has been rolled out and the programme will continue into the coming weeks. Thanks for your support, and please keep practicing activities in the homework booklet and future homework sheets to come.

Chinese New Year will be celebrated this Saturday. St Brigid’s Day is next Wednesday, the first day of Spring – awakening all the birds and flowers.

FRIENDSHIP WEEK / ANTIBULLYING WEEKS – This week the children have been learning about friendship. Next week and the following week will be Anti-Bullying Weeks. Children will be learning about the Bullying Circle, types of bullying, prevention and intervention strategies etc. I will be referring to this tomorrow morning at the coffee morning.

The staff did a training workshop in anti-bullying preventions and interventions this week which was excellent !

COFFEE MORNING TOMORROW MORNING – 27th January – The Parents Association is holding a coffee morning in the school hall on Friday 27th January from 8:30am to 9:30am.  Dermot will be giving a brief talk on anti-bullying in CWETNS at the start, as we are reviewing our anti-bullying policy at present.  There will also be an update on the 2nd level campaign by members of the campaign.

PLAYGROUND MEET UP. – The Parents Association is organising a playground meet-up in Harold’s Cross Park (that’s the triangular shaped park between Harold’s Cross Road and Kimmage Road Lower).  It will take place on Sunday 12th February at 11am. We will also opening this event up to the parents from the new Junior Infants who start in September 2017.

ROCK THE WAY FEBRAURY 17TH   Clear your calendars as the biggest musical event of the year! Come join us in The Bello Bar (below The Lower Deck, Portobello) on Friday the 17th of February for the inaugural Rock the Way, a night of musical performances by Canal Way Educate Together parents. Featuring on the night will be Oscar’s Dad, Feilim’s Dad, Fionn’s Mam, Dominic’s Dad, Donncha’s Dad, Cillian’s Dad, and Seth’s Mam AND Dad!

Also playing on the night will be special guests, and hopeful future Canal Way parents, Dinah Brand.  Help us raise funds for Canal Way Educate Together School and rock out with the Canal Way Parents and Dinah Brand!

Tickets are €10. Doors open at 8:15 and curtain rises at 8:45.
