Welcome to this weeks Newsletter,

POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH MONTH – The children are enjoying Friends For Life programme. Myself, Fiona, Hazel and Doireann have been teaching all classes with their class teachers. This is a positive mental Health Programme and the children now have a workbook in their folders. Junior & Senior classes will have completed session 1&2, so please talk to your children about this, and complete the homework booklet up to session 1&2 by tomorrow. Thanks.

ANTIBULLYING POLICY – We are reviewing our anti-bullying policy at CWETNS, and we will be asking you for your input soon. In preparation for this, I will be giving a brief talk on anti-bullying in CWETNS at the start of the coffee morning next week.

PARENT AND TODDLER MORNING – Will be starting back up tomorrow morning at 08.40am in the community rooms in the school (room2).

PARENTS ART GROUP Last year, we had a group of parents interested in art & design, who formed a committee to take on art projects eg murals, wall designs. The committee are re-convening in the coming weeks. If you would like to become involved, please contact [email protected] and we will be in touch.

COFFEE MORNING FEBRUARY 27thThe Parents Association Committee will be running a coffee morning in the school on Friday 27th January from 8:30am to 9:30am.  More details to follow.

ROCK THE WAY FEBRUARY 17th, 2017 … Electric Picnic? SO last year. Longitude? All about corporate sponsors these days. Knockanstockan? Sure, that’s just for hipsters! Clear your calendars as the biggest musical event of the year!………….

Come join us in The Bello Bar (below The Lower Deck, Portobello) on Friday the 17th of February for the inaugural Rock the Way, a night of musical performances by Canal Way Educate Together parents. Featuring on the night will be Oscar’s Dad, Feilim’s Dad, Fionn’s Mam, Dominic’s Dad, Donncha’s Dad, Cillian’s Dad, and Seth’s Mam AND Dad!

Also playing on the night will be special guests, and hopeful future Canal Way parents, Dinah Brand.

Help us raise funds for Canal Way Educate Together School and rock out with the Canal Way Parents and Dinah Brand!

Tickets are €10. Doors open at 8:15 and curtain rises at 8:45.

RECIPES NEEDED We are planning to hold a World Cultures day in March.  As part of this celebration, we are putting together a recipe book. Please send your recipes with photos or drawings if you wish to [email protected]

Ideas of childrens’ games and activities from around the world can also be sent to this address.
