BOARD OF MANAGEMENT Our Board of management met last night, and we worked on selecting community reps, to complete the formation. We shall be updating the website soon with details of or new board members.

TEACHING AND LEARNING We had a lot of sad staff, parents and children last Monday morning, when we heard the news that David Bowie had died. Homework for Senior Infants was Bowie themed on that day, and was so well received that it went viral on facebook, twitter, etc – check out these links for a flavour  … DAILY EDGE     STAR    MAIL   … (ta Jill)

And on Friday all of the classes were just about strong enough to have a David Bowie Disco – check out the GALLERY.  Your little HEROES.

PARENTS ASSOCIATION

AFTERSCHOOLS ACTIVITIES TERM 2

We’re currently working to recommence afterschool activities this term as soon as possible. We’re beginning talks with facilitators about working with us this term and also structuring a revised timetable and devising the 12 weeks around school holidays and the availability of facilitators. Hope to have news very soon of what classes will be on offer. Thanks for all the wonderful parents feedback on the form you filled out, it will be put to good use.

KIDS CINEMA NIGHT AND SPRING CLEANING SALE – Saturday 6th February, 4 – 6pm.

The Parents Committee are running the first school fundraiser event of the new year, a Kids cinema night. Taking place on the school premises, we also invite you to a pop up cafe in the parents room, Book sale and second hand textiles collection.

So as you may be spring cleaning please start collecting and bring along any second hand books (for grownups and children) as well as good quality clothes, shoes, handbags, belts, teddies and sheets for the Textile collection.

We are also looking for volunteers on the day, so if you are interested in helping out please contact [email protected]

PARENTS SOCIAL EVENING – A parents association social evening will take place upstairs at the Stags Head, 1 Dame Court, on Friday the 29th January from 8pm. We hope to see you there!
