Welcome back.
JUNIOR INFANTS are all settled in and are enjoying their new school. We are delighted to have them with us and we welcome all our new families to the school.
CORE VALUE: Our core value this month is Happiness.
Our Philosophical question for the children is “What does true happiness look like?”
TWITTER: Our twitter account was closed down last year, following a date of birth anomaly as Twitter thought we were 6 years old – another GDPR casualty! We are back anyhow, so re-follow us if you are on the twitter machine. @canalawayetns
SCHOOL CLOSURES Our next School Closure is for Halloween Mid Term – School will close Friday 25th October and re-open on Monday 4th November. We have updated our school calendar on the website – please note there is an additional school closure on December 4th for Staff professional development / English Language Curriculum. New calendar attached also.
TIME KEEPING / DROP OFF Please leave your child in the line and your teacher will bring the line in. There are staff members on the doors, helping the children in so please keep away from the doors, and let the children walk in on their own in the line. If your child is not going in as planned, please let the class go in and we will admit the children safely after that.
Children are collected from line at 08.30am. Teaching starts at 08.40am when the children are settled in. It is really important that your child is in the line at 08.30 for collection.
TOILETS We understand that sometimes, children need to go to the toilet in the yard at drop off, however we cannot have adults in the children’s toilets at any time. Please talk to a staff member and we will organise access for the children.

CONTACT DETAILS / COMMUNICATION If you have changed phone number, email address or home address in the past 12 months please inform the office. It is very important we have up to date information for your family. Most of our school to home correspondence is carried out by email – teacher updates / weekly newsletter etc.
BUILDING PROGRAMME As you will see from the signs on the gate, our planning permission has been submitted and we look forward to completing the building project when this has been finalised. We are excited about our new rooms being installed and growing as a two stream school, enrolling two streams every year for the coming three years, after which we will be a fully developed 2 stream school.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CWETNS ENTERPRISE As you are aware, one of our parents is setting up a business to provide hot lunches for schools, and we are planning to launch the programme when it is ready. (SLUNCH BOX) The provider has kindly asked us to appeal for three parents to go to a tech workshop where software and an app will be tested. The workshop will happen at 7pm n on Tuesday 10th of September in the digital hub. Please contact [email protected]

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Please see updated website and emails regarding extracurricular programme for Term 1. We are aware that costs at this time of year can add up, please contact me if you need to, as we want extra-curricular activities to be inclusive.
