Welcome to this week’s newsletter,

ETHOS – Children are learning about happiness. We are looking forward to our first assembly on Monday.

PARENTS ASSOCIATION AGM and new association to be elected September 18th at 8pm

Next Wednesday in the school. We will be having our Parents association AGM, where the outgoing parents association committee will be presenting their work from last year, and also their financial report. Big thanks to the outgoing committee for all their hard work at organising fundraising events and community initiatives.

We will be electing a new parents association committee and we are looking for representatives from each class to put themselves forward on the night. Please come along and get involved. The function of the parents association committee is to organise events and to fundrasie for the children.

The staff are currently working on identifying areas where we need to raise and spend money next year. This is in hand and we will identify these areas in the coming weeks.

LIBERTY SAINTS RUGBY CLUB

Saturday 14th of September 2019, Liberty Saints RFC will begin it Minis Programme. Designed for children between the ages of 8 and 12, the programme will be managed and coached by experienced staff from the club. Rugby pitch behind St James Primary School on James Walk, Contact Andrew Doyle, 0868144041     [email protected]

There is no cost for the programme and all equipment is supplied by the club. Children just need their own sports gear and water.

Some schools do not have open days and you can contact them yourself for a walk around.

HEALTHY EATING / NUT FREE SCHOOL 

We have a healthy eating policy in Canal Way. Please refer to our policy on the website for guidelines on lunches. Remember no nuts and seeds please due to allergies in the school.

SAFETY COMING TO SCHOOL  

Cars parked on both sides of the bollards – pedestrians, scooters and cyclists be aware!

Crossing with the Fiona our road safety warden at the top of the lane instead of taking shortcuts. Or use the zebra crossing up at Herberton.

SATURDAY 28th GARDEN TIDY UP  

We are looking for some volunteers to help with a general garden tidy up on Saturday 28th September between 09:30 – 12:30. Even one hour of availability would be a great help. Please bring your own gloves and equipment if possible. Please confirm with Ingrid or Wilma if you are available to help or email the office to let us know.
