Ethos \u2013 <\/strong><\/strong>Core Value for November is Equality. This month is Human Rights Month. Human Rights are a pillar of our Ethos, and children will be enjoying learning about rights and responsibilities over the coming month.<\/p>\n Science Week this week also, 12th<\/sup> \u2013 16th<\/sup> November.<\/p>\n Parent Teacher Meetings\u00a0 <\/strong>These will be taking place next week after school on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. You will have received a time slot from your class teacher and we kindly ask that you attend at your allocated time. We understand it can be difficult to arrange work etc, but we are also conscious that our staff have commitments outside of work also, and etc.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n One Day Together \u2013 Coins for Concert fundraiser – <\/strong>We are delighted to report that we raised \u20ac1000 for Educate Together \u2018One Day Together\u2019 Fundraiser on October 26th<\/span><\/sup> \u2013 thank you to all for your generosity. A highly entertaining day was had by all. (see photos)<\/p>\n School \/ Road Safety\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Our school warden Fiona, has now been confirmed for the 2:10 school leaving time, and also arrived earlier to help us cross the road. We do not have her for 1.10 due to Dublin County Council policy, as it is assumed that parents will be accompanying the children at this time. Fiona came to assembly this morning and spoke to the children about road safety and how to cross the road, in particular at out tricky junction. Summary:<\/p>\n \u00a0PARENT’S ASSOCIATION<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n Table Quiz:<\/strong><\/p>\n We are running our annual Table Quiz fundraiser at 8pm, Friday 16th November, McGowan’s Pub in Harold’s Cross. Come and test your general knowledge and see if you can be crowned the cleverest parents! This event is not limited to Canal Way parents, so feel free to bring friends and family. Tables of 4 are \u20ac40, or \u20ac10 per person. Great raffle prizes to be won. Raffle tickets will also be available on the yard in advance.<\/p>\n Winter Fair: Save the Date<\/strong><\/p>\n The Winter Fair is happening on Sunday, 9th December between 2pm – 4pm. This is a lovely event for children and parents so save the date.\u00a0 We will soon be doing a shout out for volunteers to help with set up and clean up, crafts, face painting, baking and cafe so please have a think about whether you might be able to help.<\/p>\n Raffle Prizes<\/strong><\/p>\n Have you any unwanted gifts in your attic? Would your workplace be willing to sponsor a raffle prize or do you know a business that would? Raffle prizes are needed for the Table Quiz and Winter Fair. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n Canal Way Hoodies & Beanies<\/strong><\/p>\n Keep warm this Winter and help raise money for our school! Canal Way beanies and hoodies are now available to order online at www.schoolwear.ie<\/a> in Navy, Red, Orange and Blue with the school logo.
