There will also be wonderful gifts available to purchase on the day. Please note, the event will be held indoors.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are still looking for volunteers to help with the clean up, so if you have an hour to spare from 4-5\u00a0on Sunday, it would be greatly appreciated. Please email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:parentssecretary@portobelloetns.org\">parentssecretary@portobelloetns.org<\/a>\u00a0if you can offer your services. Looking forward to seeing you\u00a0on Sunday!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ETHOS &#8211; FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS ASSEMBLIES &#8211; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Children will be doing class performances in the hall at 08.45am on dates below. The open assembly will take place over two mornings. We are looking forward to sharing what we have been learning about.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesday 20<sup>th<\/sup> December \u2013 Fiona, Jenny, Cian, Ciaran &amp; Doireann<\/li>\n<li>Thursday 21<sup>st<\/sup> December \u2013 Niamh, Aod\u00e1n, Simon, Aileen, Ciaran &amp; Doireann<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ciaran\u2019s and Doireann\u2019s are leading the assemblies on both mornings so you can catch them on either day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SCHOOL CLOSURES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>School closes on Friday at Dec 22<sup>nd<\/sup> at 12.00hrs, and re-opens on Monday January 8<sup>th<\/sup> 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PLANETARIUM<\/strong> \u2013 We had the BIG BEAR PLANETARIUM with us today and yesterday. <a href=\"https:\/\/canalwayetns.org\/gallery.php\">CHECK OUT THE GALERY HERE.<\/a> The pictures do not do this justice \u2013 it was fantastic. There was lots of learning and fun times for the children.\u00a0 Each class got different lessons, so we will definitely be rebooking this. Thanks to the Parents Association funds for funding this learning experience. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bigbearplanetariums.ie\/\">BIG BEAR PLANETARIUM WEBSITE here. <\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>SELF EXPRESSION DAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will be having our Self Expression Day on Friday. Pupils will be celebrating how we are all unique. It is part of Human Rights month. Pupils will be invited to express themselves through the way they dress. Pupils will be engaged in human rights lessons around identity and celebrating difference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TODDLER GROUP \u2013 <\/strong>The next toddler group will be on in January 16<sup>th<\/sup>. It is finished for this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DESIGN A CARD \u2013 <\/strong>The response was great \u2013 all cards have been ordered \u2013 we were against the clock here, so unfortunately this was the last day that the design company accept the orders.
