Dear Families,
Welcome back to the new school year. The following are news items and some updates to help you to prepare your return to school.
TIMES:
School opens for your arrival between 08:30am & 08:45am for all classes.
Junior Infants dismissed at 11:30am on Thursday and Friday. Next week, dismissal at 13:10hrs.
Reminder 1st class are now on a longer day and are dismissed at 14:10hrs.
HOMEWORK
We will be easing back into homework over the coming two weeks, so please do not worry if you do not see any just yet. Our aim is to be at full speed in two weeks, to allow the children and adults to get back into the routine smoothly.
ONE TEN DEN
ONE TEN DEN is an onsite child care facility for your junior senior infant child, from 13:10 to 14:10 hours (junior senior infants). Details of cost, booking arrangements etc, are on our website HERE. There are some spaces available if you want to book your child in – first come first served.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
We are planning on ECA’s to return on 16th all going well, and we will be in touch with you on this item in the coming weeks.
HOT LUNCHES.
We have received a few inquiries and, as mentioned previously, we are working on school infrastructure in order to make this a reality. We’ll provide updates on this matter in the upcoming term. It is a significant piece of work, and we appreciate your patience.
SUMMER WORKS
There were extensive works completed over the summer, to improve our water supply in the school, replacing tanks, and pipe work etc.
NEW CLASSROOMS & TEACHERS
This information was provided to you last week – please ensure you know your child’s classroom number and teacher before arriving at the school on Thursday. LINK HERE
PERMISSION FOR INDEPENDENT DISMISSAL
Families of 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th classes have received a permission notification on Aladdin to inform us if you permit your child to go home from school independently. Please action this ASAP to allow us to allow us to manage dismissals as smoothly as possible.
ALADDIN CONNECT APP
We would really appreciate it if all parents / guardians in a family would register for the Aladdin Connect App and verify their number. This helps us to keep text costs down and also ensures that everyone receives important information from the school and the class teacher.
