Looking forward to seeing you all there!

SCHOOL LIFE

ETHOS: Human rights month is going well. It is festival time of the year also – with Hannukah and Winter Solstice and Christmas all on the horizon. We will be having our end of year assembly later this month and shall be in touch with details.

STUDENT COUNCIL: Our student council represented us at the Educate Together Gender Equality conference last Friday evening– They presented to the conference about our school, and our council, and the work they are doing. BIG thanks to Marla-Tait, Eoin, Bruce and Feidhlim for doing a great job at representing us. You did us so proud. The conference was trending on twitter that evening, and there was a lot of complementary tweets about the Student Council in Canalway ETNS during their presentation. ET Head Office sent this thankyou message also –

The presenters from Canal Way were fantastic last Friday. They did a brilliant job and were an absolute credit to their school – Fionualla Ward, ET.

SICKNESS: Please inform school if you child has a contagious illness – chilcken pox, measles, slap check etc.  Also, if your child has been ill, do not return them to school until they have been well for 24hours. We cannot afford to have other children being sick, or the staff given how difficult it is to get substitutes in the current teacher shortage.

PHILOSOPHY: Aodán has made a really nice video (PLEASE SCROLL DOWN THE NEWS FEED). Very charming thoughts from his class.

COMMUNITY: We would like to make you aware of a local psychotherapy clinic on 57 Crumlin Road, www.psychotherapyireland.ie  They work with a lot of  issues – trauma, anxiety, identity, grief, relationships etc.     Friends of Canal Way, local service, private community based ethos – mention us if you contact them.

Enjoy the weekend,

Dermot
