Newsletter 28.11.2013
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Welcome to this weeks newsletter –
ETHOS: The students have really enjoyed November and learning about Human Rights. We shall be looking at Hanukkah and Thanksgiving at assembly on this Friday. We have all been working hard sharing during November. The children’s enthusiasm is really noticeable here – well done. Next months core value is Freedom. We will have an open assembly on the December 13th to mark the end of the term. The theme will be Festivals of Light.
FUNDRAISING: A huge thank-you for the fantastic turnout last week at the table quiz. It was great craic. The total taken in was €1777.10 plus a €50 donation from CBS Synge Street. Please send on our thanks for all the raffle prizes donated over the last few weeks. The night was a huge success and a big round of applause for the organisers. There was a lot of hard work there and it is appreciated so much. Thank you. We shall keep ye posted on the big spend.
Some parents also raised €120 in a collection over the last few weeks. We are passing this on to another start up group (to be identified) as a token of good luck and also to recognise the hard work done by the founding members of the group. Thanks for organising this.
HOUSEKEEPING: We have drinking water in every room, and would be most grateful if you could send a plastic cup for your child in Senior, First & Second – just for days the children forget their bottles.
BOARD OF MANAGEMENT: We are finalising paper work for our two patron representatives and shall be announcing the first board members in early December.
OUT AND ABOUT: All classes are walking to Rathmines Library on Friday. The staff are looking forward to our visit as are the children. Fiona’s classes have been planting Daffodils in pots in the yard. You will see their work at the entrance door. Keep your eye on the pots … and roll on The Spring!
Have a nice weekend,
Best Wishes – Dermot.
