ACTIVE SCHOOLS – Well done to EVERYONE involved in active schools week which is coming to a close on Sunday. Finish your Active Schools Diary at the weekend and hand it up on Monday! Thanks so much to all the parents who volunteered. You were such a great help. Please e-mail in any photos you have and we will try to get them up on the website and linked into next week’s newsletter!

 

NUTRITIONIST – 

Tomorrow morning, Friday 27th, from 8:35a.m. there will be a talk on nutrition relating to children in the parents room, as well as Q & A afterwards.

 

PARENTS ASSOCIATION – 

The committee would like to thank everyone who turned out on the night of the general meeting.  An update about the current activities of the committee on behalf of the Parents Association was given, and we heard a thought-provoking talk on internet safety by Mary Crosbie of the National Parents Association.  The next general meeting of the PA will be in September, when the new committee will be elected.
Date for your Diary: Summer party and barbeque, Sunday 12th June from 3-5pm.
We are looking forward to finishing out the year with our final fundraiser, a big party for everyone. We are looking for some help to get it going, as below, and we look forward to seeing you there!

BUG – 
There has been a bit of an outbreak of a vomiting bug in some schools around Dublin this week and it seems to have crept into Canal Way too. Please be aware and keep your child at home if they are sick! Thanks.
VISITORS – Our guests have returned (if they ever left). Please check your children’s hair and treat accordingly. This is really important. Families are understandably growing tired of it now.

SECOND LEVEL EDUCATE TOGETHER – NOTE FROM CAMPAIGN:

We are fast approaching the deadline of 7th June for school patrons to apply for the patronage of the new Second Level school, due to open in Dublin South CIty are in 2018. Public Meeting on an Educate Together Second Level School for Dublin South City

 Date: Tuesday 31st May at 8.00pm

Venue: Wesley Hall, Lesson Park, Dublin 6

We are holding a public meeting to discuss the opening of the new school, the Department of Education process to award patronage and to share with interested parents what a Second level Educate Together School looks like.

Speakers will include a principal and parent of an Educate Together Second Level school as well as Educate Together. This will be a great opportunity to understand more about the Educate Together Second Level approach and hear direct experiences from parents and a principal.  Look forward to seeing you there!
