NEWSLETTER 22.10.2016

Hello All, Welcome to this weeks newsletter,

ETHOS – Core Value is Friendship. Harvest Time is here. Halloween, Diwali and the first day of winter are on their way – along with all that ancient rain !

HOMELESS APPEAL – We are collecting for  The SVP Homeless Charity on Patrick Street Dublin 8. This centre feeds and gives supplies to people who are homeless. Your class teacher will take donations from you during the week. Please come with one or two small items for the charity eg Food item, toiletries, socks, gloves, hats. (Transport was an issue last time, so please make it small – thanks.)

CODERDOJO – Check out the Gallery for Photos.

SCHOOL CLOSURES: We are closing on Friday 28th at usual time for 1 week midterm, and will open again on Monday November 7th.

BOOK FAIR: Thanks to Fiona and Jessie and Parents who helped organise the book fair this week. It was a great success, with many titles selling out. The children really enjoyed it. Thank-you all for your support.

PARENT TEACHER MEETINGS – Your class teacher will be in touch with you in the coming weeks, about annual parent teacher meetings which will be happening in mid November.

MATHS WEEK: Fun games, challenges, trips, walks – Maths Fun all the way. The children had a great time with maths activities all week, thanks for parental support and thanks to teachers for organising the week. Check out the Gallery . More to follow for next week.

PARENTS ASSOCIATION UPDATE:
Thanks to all who came to the Book Fair and to the Coffee morning.
Update on Educate Together Second Level School
We have got formal confirmation from the Department of Education that the site in Sandymount purchased from Rehab is intended to accommodate the secondary school (to serve Dublin 2, 4, 6 and 8), due to open in 2018. We are still awaiting a decision on patronage which should be over the next two weeks. As soon as we have that announcement the campaign group will meet to discuss all the options available. Thanks for your patience!

All the best, Dermot & Staff.
