We have had such a wonderful term in Canal Way and we have done so well as a community to make school a safe and welcoming place for all of the children. We hope you enjoy a little flavour of the work we have done in our Winter Assembly (available HERE). All of the staff here wish you all a peaceful and safe break over the coming weeks and we look forward to seeing you in 2021.
Winter Break Tues 22 Dec
On Tuesday 22nd December, the school will close for our Winter Break. We have staggered dismissal times tomorrow, to avoid congestion in the yard.
Junior and Senior Infants will finish at 11:45
1st – 6th will finish at 12:00
Please let us know if you are finishing up early or coming back late in January so that we can appropriately mark absences.
We re-open on Wednesday 6th January from 08:30am (same soft start as usual). See the calendar here. We understand that travel overseas may be necessary for some families however you will be required to quarantine upon your return so please consult the most up to date travel advice from the HSE and consider this when making plans. Please make sure you keep up to date with Irish government advice as the situation can change very quickly. If you should need to contact the school over the break for any urgent reason please email [email protected]
Winter Well-being Guide
2020 has been a very difficult year for everyone. As we ease into a Winter break, we have developed a Wellbeing Guide to share with you and the family. Focus Ireland fundraiser
The whole school is so impressed with our 6th class who raised over €1300 for Focus Ireland! Thanks to all who supported. Focus Ireland do really important work supporting our homeless community. It was a great success. We need these wonderful good news stories!
Thanks to everyone who took part and for their generous donations. A total of 133 families took part and a substantial €5,302 Euros was raised! We’d like to say a big thanks to Colm O’Regan for his role in facilitating the quiz. We would like to send apologies to the families who could not participate because of technical difficulties experienced at the beginning of the event. Any donations that were not gifted away this time will be put to use at future events. Lastly the PAC would like to wish everyone a good Winter break, and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2021.
