Welcome to this week’s newsletter –

PARENTS ASSOCIATION

WINTER FAIR

The Winter Fair will take place from 2pm-4pm on Sunday 8th December with activities for all including Face-painting, Games, Crafts & Café.

Volunteers are needed for set up on the Saturday and running of the fair on Sunday. Please contact your class rep or any member of the Parents Association Committee if you can commit to helping. An email with details was sent earlier in the week if you need more information.

CLOTHES SWOP PARTY at the fair – Two students from 6th class have started a charity initiative and they want you to donate any unwanted adult or children’s. Please bring them into us by 28th November. They will be setting up a shop at the fair, and the donated clothes will be for sale – all donations will go to Temple Street Toy Appeal.

  • All clothes must be washed and clean
  • No socks, underwear or shoes.

This is a great initiative, showcasing the students learning, entrepreneurial skills, AND you have the opportunity to get yourself new outfit.

WINTER CARDS – Went home in bags yesterday – deadline for purchase is this Friday 22nd if you want them to be delivered for the season.

THANKYOU – to all families who donated money for Magic Show and Dress-up Day. We raised €870 and this will be spent on plants which will be delivered to the school next month.

BOARD OF MANAGEMENT – Voting slips went home yesterday – you are voting for two parents to go onto the Board of Management for a four year term, to assist and be representative parents in decision making and governance. Vote for one father and one mother. Please return by Friday. Votes will be publicly counted on Monday at 15.00hrs in my office – if anyone wants to come along please let me know.

Thank-you to the six candidates for nominating themselves. Best of luck to all.

SLUNCH BOX Place your orders by 23rd – www.sclunchbox.com

PARKING: We ask you not to park in front of driveways or on paths, in the streets around the school, & particularly around Maryland. Local residents have contacted us, because they cannot get out of their driveways to start their day, due to parents parking inconsiderately. Take the time to come to school a few minutes early and park safely. With the darker mornings please be careful when parking close to the school. Many of our children walk, cycle and scoot and need to get to school safely. High Vis Vests are advisable.

PARENT TEACHER MEETINGS

Thank you to all parents who attended their parent teacher meetings last week. If you were unable to make your scheduled time please try and re-schedule with your child’s teacher before the end of this month.

Parent & Toddler Group

A Parent & Toddler group takes place in the Community rooms here in the school on Mondays from 09:15 to 10:15.

All are welcome to attend so if you know of any local families who are not yet in the school and have small children at home please let them know.

Next School Closures

The school will be closed for Staff Curriculum training on the 4th of December.

Winter Holiday: Half day on Friday 20th December.

Best regards,

Dermot & Staff
