ETHOS:

Core value this month is SHARING. We are also learning about Human Rights/ Junior Infants are learning about their right a name,  home, and to play. Senior, First & Second have been studying The UN Convention on the Rights of The Child. they have done fantastic work on this and made a great display for the reception.

FUNDRAISER:

Hope to see you at the Portobello ETNS table quiz at 8pm this Friday in McGowan’s of Harold’s Cross. It’s 40 euro per table of four, please come early to make sure you get a table. Not got the full four? Come along anyway, tables can be made up on the night.  As always, we’ve a fantastic selection of prizes: 

First prize: 150 euro and four bottles of booze
Second: Four Paddy Power online betting vouchers & four bottles of vino
Third: Four great Singular Statements t-shirts & four boxes of biscuits

CONGRATULATIONS:
Fiona graduated last week with a Postgraduate Diploma in Learning Support & Special Educational Needs from Trinity College. Well done Fiona.
LOCAL NEWS:
Griffith Barracks are having a Winter Fair this Sunday from 12 – 3pm – organised by their parents association. It’s always a good event – drop in.
THE LIGHT:
Junior infants have been learning about light and with Fiona’s help have discovered that light travels in straight lines. See picture below:

We all had great fun when the Dublin lads brought the Sam Maguire on Wednesday. Have a look at the photos below.
We will remember this day … the FIRST time the Sam Maguire came to the school!!!
