Newsletter 16.12.16

Welcome to this week’s newsletter,

Thank you to everyone who came to our open assemblies this week.  Please see the gallery for some photographs of the classes in action and some of the artwork.

It was great to see so many people at the bake sale organised by Hazel’s class. It was a great success. Over 750 euro was raised for the school in Greece that are working voluntarily to provide education for Syrian children. The whole school are so impressed that Hazel’s class took their learning from Human Rights month and used their knowledge to help refugee children. They have actualised the quote by Nelson Mandela that was read during the open assemblies;

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”

There are some school calendars left, they will be on sale on Monday morning in the school for ten euro. All proceeds go to Canal Way.

If you would like to get in touch with the Parents Association Committee the email address is [email protected]

Canal Way will be closing at 12.00 on Thursday 22nd of December and will reopen on Monday 9th of January.

Please note that the school is closed for staff training on 17th of January.

Take this opportunity to thank all the staff and school community who helped out this week. It has been great to have so much support and goodwill.

Have a nice weekend,

Canal Way Staff
