NEWSLETTER 13.03.2014
Welcome to this week’s newsletter,
ETHOS: We have been enjoying Seacthain Na Gaeilge this week, and have been dancing, singing, PE as gaeilge and creating fantastic art. We will be learning about St Patrick tomorrow.
OUT AND ABOUT: We will be going to the NOW AND THEN exhibition tomorrow in the City Assembly House. This is part of the St Patrick’s Day Festival that is taking place in Dublin this weekend.
SOCIAL EVENT: At the election of the board meeting last month some parents had expressed interest in having a more informal get together. A group of the current parents have arranged a Parents Social Evening, an informal get together in the Stag’s Head Pub, Saturday 22nd March, 8pm. Tables are reserved in the upstairs bar. ‘To be’ parents of future pupils and PETNS supporters also very welcome.
FAMILY FUN DAY: Sunday 6th April 2-4pm – Clogher Road Community Centre. Face-painting, art corner, cafe & more. If you’re interested in getting involved please email [email protected]. More volunteers are needed – face-painters, cafe helpers and general support on the day.
BOARD OF MANAGEMENT: The Board will meet next Tuesday 18th March. We will be adding a Board of Management blog / news page to the website, to inform our school community of items that were discussed and any decisions made.
STUDENT CONFERENCING: First and second class held their student conferences this week. These are one to one meetings between the student and the parent / guardian. It is a great opportunity for everyone to share the child’s work and to get an insight into a school day in Portobello ETNS. Thanks to the children and the parents for partaking in this and a big thank-you to Fiona for preparing and facilitating this event. Senior Infants will have their meetings next Wednesday at 08.30am, and we look forward to more meetings in term three for the rest of the school.
All the best,
Dermot.
