This term has been a long one and a very busy one too. Thanks to everyone for their support – children, staff, families, our leadership team and our Board of Management. I hope ye have a lovely Spring Break, and safe travels if you are getting off the island, Ted!
Eggy Fun in the Garden This year, instead of our usual egg drop, the children took part in a variety of Spring-themed activities out in the garden. It was a great way to mix things up and everyone had a lot of fun, Some of the activities included:
Orienteering egg hunts , “The floor is lava” challenges, Tightrope walking, Egg ziplines
Testing how strong eggshells, Floating and sinking eggs
Easter egg printing, Science display, Quizzes
And even using pinhole cameras to look at upside-down chickens!

There won’t be a Games Club next term, but there will be a new Spanish club starting. Please have a look on the after school site for more information
Thank you to all families who supported the recent Book Fair in the hall.
We managed to raise a whopping credit of €3455 which our teachers can now use to replenish stock on our classroom library.
Thank you also to the parents, PAC members and teachers who volunteered their time to help during the fair.
The Lunch Bag, our lunch provider, have started a new fresh fruit initiative in our classrooms here in Canal Way ETNS. Each classroom will have a fruit bowl stocked daily with fresh fruit.
This fantastic initiative is completely free, and we encourage parents to get involved by reminding children to grab a piece of fruit at small break.

We’re excited to share that our brand new sensory corridor was installed this week. This colourful, interactive space is already a hit with students, offering a way to reset, refocus, and enjoy a quick break during the day. More to come also ! This was financed by a parent in Simon’s 2nd class, who made a very generous donation which was matched by her employer Microsoft. Thankyou so much.
Our senior boys and girls competed against Basin Lane neighbors St. James in the first round of the St. Patrick’s Athletic Cup 2025. In competitive matches played in good spirits, the boys secured a fantastic victory, while the girls faced a spirited defeat. We are very proud of how both teams represented Canal Way ETNS with sporting and competitive pride.
