NEWSLETTER 09.09.2016

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Welcome to this week’s newsletter.

ETHOS: Our core value this month is Friendship. Eid-al-Adha holiday is on September 11th /12th. Best wishes to all preparing for and celebrating this festival. We are learning Penny Lane by the Beatles at Assembly. The children made great progress this morning, so demand a rendition after dinner on Sunday.

Roald Dahl Day is on Tuesday, and Doireann’s class will be going to a book shop in the city centre where they will be celebrating his works.

JUNIOR INFANTS: Thank you to our new wobbly recruits. We have had a great week with ye, and Aodán and Niamh assure us that we have the best junior infants in Ireland. You will finish at 13.10hrs next week. Please pack food for two breaks.

NUTS & HEALTHY LUNCH: Thanks for your ongoing – please do not pack nuts or nut products in lunch bags. We have children with serious nut allergies.

CHECK OUT THE GALLERY FOR HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK.

BIKE SHED: Please lock the bike shed when you are finished with it – it is left open constantly. We need to be more vigilant here. Code in email.

BIKES & SCOOTERS: Adults and children must dismount all vehicles when entering the yard. Also at collection time, children must not use vehicles until they are off the school premises. The school is growing now, and we are very concerned about safety.

TOILETS: Adults are not allowed into the toilets in the school for child protection / safety reasons.

POD forms – Some of ye may have received yellow forms requesting information. Please return these ASAP.

SIBLING HOUR: We are working hard to get this up and running and are will be in touch in the coming weeks when we have this ready to go.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES – Our Parents Association is working on this at present and will proceed when all instructors are vetted, which is taking a lot time under the new guidelines. Again we would like to remind ye that our space for these activities is restricted this year as the classrooms are full – so there will be less on offer compared to last year.

GOOD LUCK AND THANKS to all involved in Coder Dojo which will be starting on Saturday in the school.

Thank-you to all who have paid materials money online // we are now a cash free school.

Enjoy the weekend,

Dermot & Staff.
