Dear Parents / Guardians …. Welcome to this week’s newsletter.

ETHOS: Our core value this month is sharing. The children will be learning about human rights this month. Thank-you again to all the donations for the homeless shelter. The volunteers in the Mendicity Centre have sent on their thanks. They were delighted with their surprise delivery.

The formation of the Board of Management is on-going. I am getting a lot of enquiries regarding the parents association, and unfortunately we cannot set this up until the board is in place. We will hope to get things moving with the PA in the next couple of months. The table quiz is approaching, and anyone who has donations of prizes can contact the office or email [email protected]

MONEY FOR MUSIC:  TABLE QUIZ … 8pm Friday November 22nd, McGowans’ of Harolds Cross. €40 per table of four. €150 for the winning team plus lots of great raffle prizes to be won! Have fun and help Portobello ETNS raise money for musical instruments.

PARENT TEACHER MEETINGS: We now have half of our meetings done, and shall be finishing them next Wednesday.

STAFF: Special Needs Assistant – appointment is ongoing.

HEALTHY EATING: Reminder to all parents that we have a healthy eating policy in PETNS. We do not give the children unhealthy food in school, and ask that you support this.

YARD: We have introduced a quiet space in the yard, where children can play with toys and games. It is very successful, and the children are really enjoying it. Have a look at the photos below. We would like to appeal to parents for toy donations. If you have any old garden toys, please send them into us. Even some sturdy indoor toys would be great.
