Message from Dermot

Our core value this month is Pride. World Humanist day is on June 21st which ties in with Summer Solstice. The children are enjoying school tours currently and we appreciate all of the support the parents are giving the younger classes.

The children have finished standardised testing, and end of year reports will be sent to you in a few weeks. We will have an active week next week, with sports day on Monday. Please send children into school in sportswear on Monday. We will have other activities during the week – yoga on Tuesday and more to be confirmed that the children will enjoy.

Arts Week

Arts week happened last week, and the school was a melting pot of creativity and joy. I would like to pass on a huge thankyou to Wilma & Teresa who lead the week, and made it a huge success. There was a serious amount of work went into this and as you will have seen from the work created, it was a wonderful success.

Summer Fair this Saturday 11th in CWETNS 3-6pm

The Parents Association will be holding their annual Summer Fair in the school on this Saturday 11th from 3pm to 6pm.

Tickets are on sale from Ticket Tailor from Monday 6th June.

Food, Music, Games, Bike First aid and lots more.

The money raised will go towards PE education and also book purchasing.

It is a while since we had an opportunity to have a fun day in the school and it promises to be a great day for all. Please try to make it along and help support the school and one another.

Canal Way ETNS competed in Santry Athletics

Canal Way ETNS athletics competed for our school a few weeks ago. They brought home some medals and everyone had a great day competing int he events. The children represented our school so well, and we thank them for that. Thanks also to Orla Tynan for organising this event, and for putting our school on the map over on the north side of the city. Calendar:

Our 2022 – 2023 school calendar is on our homepage. Last day of school is June 30th and children will finish on a half day.

First day back is September 1st. If you are going to be late returning please let the school office know asap – [email protected]

School Leavers:

If you are leaving Canal Way ETNS at the end of the school year, please let us know ASAP. We need to know our enrolment numbers so we can manage staffing next year.

IMMA Summer Nights

A cheeky reminder about IMMA Summer Nights – free performances every Thursday and Friday in the Courtyard. Tomorrow evening at 19:15hrs, you will see these familiar faces performing again. Lots of the CWETNS community turned out last month and it was a fab evening. Hope to see you there tomorrow.
