WESAK (Buddhism) is celebrated on May 10th. This is also known as Buddha’s Birthday and is celebrated by making an extra effort to bring happiness to the less fortunate.

Congratulations to the group of students from 2nd class who celebrated their rite of passage on Saturday afternoon on St James’s Street, when they made their communion. Great day had by all.

DATES FOR THE DIARY –

  • Sponsored Walk is on 10.30 May 12th
  • Active Schools Disco Fancy Dress is on 08.30 on May 19th
  • Grandparents Day May 26th (Grandparents invited to visit school – details to follow)

We will be in touch with the dances that we shall be doing at our disco, hopefully with links, so ye can practice them at home. Fines will be issued to people not dancing properly.

TEACHING AND LEARNING Dave Mc Keon is visiting our school today from Trinity College, where he lectures in the Sciences. He is talking about space, the solar system, the cosmos and stuff!

PARENTS ASSOCIATION

School’s Sponsored Walk

The School’s sponsored Walk will take place on Friday 12th May, starting at 10:30am.  Sponsorship form were been sent home in schoolbags on Wednesday 3rd May.

 

If you are available to volunteer on the day (walking with the children and helping supervise them), please let your child’s teacher know.  The teachers will co-ordinate the volunteers for each class.

 

Volunteers needed for the Summer BBQ

The PAC will be organising a Summer BBQ to take place in June (date to confirmed soon) and need volunteers to help out.  If you are interested please e-mail us at [email protected]

 

Social night for parents

The PAC are organising a social event for parents on Friday 12th May in MVP (http://mvpdublin.com/).  We will be there from 8pm onwards, all CWETNS parents are welcome!

 

Coffee Morning- 26th May

The PAC will be running a coffee morning in the school on Friday 26th May from 8:30am to 9:30am.  We hope that Recipe Book will be in sale that morning – more details to follow.

 

Fundraising Ideas

Thanks to all who have sent their fundraising suggestions.  There have been some really great ideas and we are very grateful to all the parents who got back to us.  We will give feedback to all who submitted suggestions on what are our next steps.
