Welcome to this week’s News-letter

SUMMER BBQ – The annual summer barbeque is taking place THIS SUNDAY, 9th June between 2pm and 4pm. This is a great day and lots of work goes into these events.

PARENTS ASSOCIATION – Thanks to the parents association for all of the work they do during the year. We remind you that our school does not request annual contributions from families like some other local schools, which can ask for €200plus per child. This is made possible by the work and funds raised by the Parents Association and by families attending and supporting events. We appreciate you continuing to make all efforts to attend events, help raise money and contribute when you can.

ETHOS – This month’s core value is Freedom. Eid was celebrated over the last few days, marking the end of Ramadan.

COFFEE MORNING We having a coffee morning on Monday at 08.45am primarily for junior and senior infant classes, hosted by UCD. They have completed research with our Junior Classes – all welcome to hear encouraging tips for engaging children early in science, and helping encourage young people’s motivation around science. Looking forward to seeing you there.

WELCOME JUNIOR INFANTS We are welcoming our junior infant classes to the school this week. They are meeting their teachers Orla and Simon.

CINEMAGIC We had Cinemagic in the school this week, and this was financed by the Parents Association – Thanks. The children enjoyed short films from around the world in the hall.

2019 / 2020 – NEXT YEAR

If you are planning on not returning to CWETNs for the next school year, please inform us ASAP.

Congratulations to teacher Cian, who has been appointed School Principal of Harold’s Cross National School, which will open in September. We will also be wishing Jenny bon-voyage as she will be leaving us next year for global adventures. Thanks for all your dedication and hard work in CWETNS, and we wish you all the very best.

This year we will be informing you of your new teacher in July when we finalise our staff following our recruitment process. Our senior infants will be mixed going into First Class next year. This was very successful last year and our policy is on the website. Our SNA team will be growing next year and we shall be informing you of new staff when that is finalised. This is the result of a lot of hard work from our support team, our staff and our parents, and I would like to pass on thanks to all who supported me in securing this for our children.

ACTIVE SCHOOLS WEEK

We will be in touch with all of our activities scheduled for Active Schools Week 17th to 21st of June.

Enjoy weekend and BBQ
